Trico Strikes Back At Federal-Mogul With ITC Patent Suit
Law360, New York (October 22, 2013, 6:46 PM EDT) -- Trico Products Corp. asked the U.S. International Trade Commission on Monday to investigate whether products imported by a Belgian rival infringed Trico's patents covering the measurements and mathematical formula it uses to design its windshield wipers.
The Rochester Hills, Mich.-based wiper manufacturer alleges that foreign-made blades imported by Federal-Mogul SA and its Michigan unit, Federal-Mogul Corp., ripped off Trico's innovations, in violation of Section 337 of the Tariff Act. Trico is asking the commission to impose an exclusion order barring two models of its competitor’s blades from entering the country.
