FilmOn Tries To Dodge Contempt Ruling In DC

Law360, New York (October 22, 2013, 5:22 PM EDT) -- Online television streamer FilmOn X LLC urged a D.C. federal judge Monday not to hold the company in contempt for breaching a near-nationwide ban on the online service, calling it an excessive penalty for the violation.

The filing came after U.S. District Judge Rosemary M. Collyer asked FilmOn last week to explain why she shouldn't hold the company in contempt for restarting its streaming in the Boston area earlier this month, in direct violation of her Sept. 5 order shutting the company down in every state...
