Pension Funds Want Fossil Fuel Cos. To Study Climate Risks

Law360, New York (October 24, 2013, 6:28 PM EDT) -- A group of 70 global investors, including some of the largest pension funds in the U.S., said Thursday that they've urged some of the fossil fuel industry's biggest players to assess the financial risks that climate change and efforts to combat it pose to their business plans.

The investors, which manage more than $3 trillion in combined assets, said they've sent letters to 45 of the world's top oil and gas, coal and electric power companies, demanding that they outline their exposure to the risks associated...
