Pilot Dispute Dampens Delta-Northwest Merger Hopes

Law360, New York (February 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Merger talks between Delta Air Lines Inc. and Northwest Airlines Corp. have reportedly stalled this week as unions representing the airlines' pilots failed to agree on how to integrate their seniority lists, causing both companies' stock to fall more than 6%.

Sources familiar with the deal said that the two airlines were nearing a merger agreement when the pilots' dispute threatened to slow it down, the Chicago Tribune reported on Wednesday.
