Juror Misconduct Strikes Again At Jenkens Atty's Trial

Law360, New York (October 24, 2013, 7:36 PM EDT) -- Juror mischief returned Thursday to haunt the tax fraud retrial of the former leader of now-defunct law firm Jenkens & Gilchrist PC, the same day he backed down from taking the stand in New York federal court.

Paul Daugerdas is accused of setting up fraudulent tax shelters for wealthy individuals, along with Denis Field, a former CEO of accounting firm BDO Seidman LLP. The pair were convicted in May 2011 on tax evasion charges, but the following month a judge granted them a new trial after discovering a juror had concealed her history as a former attorney with a criminal background...
