FDA Issues Warning Over Popular Denture Cleaners

Law360 (February 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration posted a public health notification on its Web site Monday in response to 72 reports of sickness and one fatality related to the use of denture cleaners.

The FDA said persulfate, a bleaching ingredient in the denture cleaners, has caused abdominal pain, vomiting, seizures, hypotension and difficulty breathing in users.
