Indicted Philly Traffic Court Judge To Get Suspension Pay

Law360, Philadelphia (October 28, 2013, 1:49 PM EDT) -- Philadelphia traffic court judge Michael Lowry, under federal indictment for his participation in an alleged ticket-fixing scandal, will receive pay during his suspension, the state's Court of Judicial Discipline ruled Friday.

The six-judge panel found that in the five cases in the 79-page indictment that identify Lowry, none of them contain any allegations that plausibly suggest he had committed wire fraud. The court also expressed skepticism at allegations that Lowry perjured himself.
