Proposed $115.5M CFS, First Merchants Merger OK'd By Court

Law360, Los Angeles (October 28, 2013, 4:33 PM EDT) -- An Indiana federal judge on Monday refused to halt a proposed $115.5 million merger between CFS Bancorp Inc. and First Merchants Corp., deciding a shareholder's class action over the deal did not cite any misleading statements in a CFS securities filing.

U.S. District Judge Jon E. DeGuilio said plaintiff Jay Orlando hadn't identified any specific information that was omitted from a proxy statement issued after the deal's announcement and required to be disclosed by federal securities laws. He thus denied the request for a preliminary injunction...
