Walgreens Sued Over Cartilage Rebuilding Supplement

Law360, New York (October 29, 2013, 1:34 PM EDT) -- Walgreen Co. on Monday was hit in Florida federal court with yet another proposed consumer class action over its line of glucosamine products that the drugstore retail giant markets as a way to “rebuild cartilage” even though, the suit claims, that is biologically impossible.

The new suit, filed by Boca Raton resident Marc Group, makes similar claims to a suit that Walgreens is currently battling in New York federal court, and targets allegedly misleading labels on the retailer’s joint supplement products that contain compounds that are naturally...
