Synthes' Spinal Implant Patent Invalid, Fed. Circ. Affirms

Law360, San Francisco (October 29, 2013, 3:24 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Tuesday upheld a California federal jury's verdict invalidating Synthes USA LLC's spinal-implant patent in its infringement case against rival Spinal Kinetics Inc., agreeing that the written descriptions in Synthes' patent weren't fulsome enough to support its claims.
