NRG Seeks Approval Of Wind Takeover In $2.6B Edison Merger

Law360, Dallas (October 30, 2013, 7:41 PM EDT) -- NRG Energy Inc. on Tuesday sought approval from Texas’ utility regulator to take over three wind generation facilities it purchased as part of its $2.6 billion acquisition of Edison Mission Energy.

The EME acquisitions would boost NRG to 11,394 megawatts of installed generation capacity within the grid operated by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or 13.6 percent, according to NRG's application for approval with the Public Utility Commission of Texas.
