Ex-Jenkens Chicago Boss Convicted In Tax Shelter Case
Law360, New York (October 31, 2013, 9:51 PM EDT) -- Paul Daugerdas, the former head of the Chicago office of Jenkens & Gilchrist PC, was convicted for a second time Thursday of conspiracy and tax evasion over his role in a scheme to create tax shelters for wealthy clients.
A jury found Daugerdas guilty on charges of conspiracy, tax evasion, impeding Internal Revenue laws and mail fraud after an eight-week retrial. The jury acquitted alleged co-conspirator Denis Field, the former CEO of accounting firm BDO Seidman.
