Chevron Moves To Block Donziger Witnesses In $19B Trial

Law360, New York (November 1, 2013, 8:05 PM EDT) -- Chevron Corp. on Thursday attempted to limit or block seven of Steven Donziger’s witnesses from testifying in the company’s ongoing New York racketeering trial over a $19 billion pollution judgment, saying the testimony they are set to offer would be irrelevant or inadmissible.

The company is asking U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan to preclude the testimony of more than half of the 13 names submitted by Donziger and his co-defendants, saying the defense has stymied its efforts to obtain discovery from several of those witnesses...
