Sherwin-Williams, Mexico Agency To Talk $2.3B Comex Buy

Law360, New York (November 1, 2013, 4:52 PM EDT) -- Sherwin-Williams Co.'s top executive told analysts Friday that the company plans to meet with Mexico's antitrust watchdog, which on Tuesday night blocked its $2.3 billion purchase of Mexican paint and coatings business Consorcio Comex SA de CV.

The most recent rejection from the Federal Economic Competition Commission of Mexico, known as Cofeco, was the second such rebuff from the agency.
