Syringe Maker Faces Securities Suit Amid Whistleblower Row

Law360, Los Angeles (November 1, 2013, 7:45 PM EDT) -- Unilife Corp., a developer and supplier of injectable drug delivery systems, was hit with a putative securities class action in Pennsylvania federal court Friday by an investor who says Unilife’s top executives’ false statements about the company’s prospects were revealed by a whistleblower who sued for wrongful termination.

The lawsuit raises allegations that the defendants misled investors about demand for the product, the fact that Unilife’s Unifill syringes and quality management system failed to comply with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s regulations and other issues....
