Pa. Rep. Seeks To Introduce Insurance Fraud Reform

Law360, Philadelphia (November 4, 2013, 2:22 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania state representative announced Friday that he intended to reintroduce legislation aimed at reforming the state’s insurance fraud laws, in the wake of a surge in reported incidents, especially with regard to health care.

Rep. Bryan Barbin, D-Cambria, said in a co-sponsorship memo that reported insurance fraud in the state has jumped 62 percent over the last two years and noted that the state’s fraud laws have not been addressed comprehensively since 1994.
