Microsoft Inks 20-Year Texas Wind Power Agreement

Law360, Houston (November 4, 2013, 9:40 PM EST) -- Microsoft Corp. said Monday it has signed a 20-year agreement with RES Americas Developments Inc. to buy all of the power output from a new North Texas wind farm as a part of the tech titan’s effort to reduce its carbon footprint.

Under the terms of the deal, Microsoft will purchase for an undisclosed price all of the energy produced by the Keechi Wind project, a 110-megawatt facility slated to break ground next year 70 miles northwest of Fort Worth. But the company said the deal...
