Baxter Widens Recall As Blood-Thinner Deaths Mount

Law360, New York (February 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Baxter International Inc. widened its heparin recall Thursday, seeking to remove virtually all of its heparin products from the market, after further reports of death and sickness were linked to the widely used blood thinner.

The expanded recall now includes Baxter's single-dose injections and its Hep-Lock products, leaving only Baxter's heparin pre-mix IV solutions on the market because they come from a different source.
