Senate Committee OKs Funding Bill To Plug Intel Leaks

Law360, New York (November 6, 2013, 5:47 PM EST) -- The Senate Intelligence Committee voted Tuesday to extend funding for the government's intelligence operations while clamping down on intelligence leaks through more information technology detection systems in the wake of Edward Snowden's high-profile disclosures.

The committee approved the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 in a 13-2 vote after a closed-door session Tuesday to fund intelligence activities, including the thwarting of terrorist attacks and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, conducting covert operations, analyzing intelligence and enhancing counterintelligence.
