Islamabad Marriott Wrongful Death Suit Moves Forward

Law360, Washington (November 6, 2013, 3:31 PM EST) -- A Maryland federal judge on Wednesday refused to toss a lawsuit alleging Marriott International Inc. was liable for failing to adequately secure an Islamabad franchise hotel struck by a terrorist attack in 2008, but warned that the plaintiffs need to develop their claims further to survive the next motion.

U.S. District Judge Roger W. Titus said the case brought by the widow and three sons of civilian contractor Albert DiFederico, who died in the attack, narrowly survived Marriott's motion to dismiss, and he urged the plaintiffs...
