Gov't Has Wrong Man In Silk Road Case, Atty Says

Law360, New York (November 6, 2013, 6:10 PM EST) -- Ross William Ulbricht, the alleged owner of $1.2 billion online contraband marketplace Silk Road, is not the man prosecutors think he is, his lawyer said Wednesday after Ulbricht’s first appearance in Manhattan federal court.

“He’s not the person who is alleged in these charges,” attorney Joshua L. Dratel told reporters after a hearing before U.S. District Judge Ronald Ellis. “The evidence will establish that he is not who they say he is.”
