Homeland Security Dept. Cleared From Rape Suit

Law360, New York (February 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal appellate court has refused to revive a U.S. Department of Homeland Security worker's lawsuit claiming that the government failed to investigate her rape allegations and then created a hostile work environment by allowing her alleged rapist to visit her office.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit on Friday affirmed a lower court's ruling that the DHS was not liable for Leah Lapka's Title VII hostile environment and unlawful retaliation claims.
