Court OKs Libor Claims Against Barclays, Deutsche Bank

Law360, New York (November 8, 2013, 1:33 PM EST) -- A London appeals court on Friday denied bids from Barclays PLC and Deutsche Bank AG to strip allegations over their alleged fixing of the London interbank offered rate from a pair of lawsuits surrounding interest rate swaps, resolving a schism between lower courts on the issue.

The three-judge panel maintained that the extent to which the two banks participated in an increasingly scrutinized global manipulation of Libor was an issue that should be settled when the cases go to trial, which is expected to take place...
