FAA Drone Plan Has Aerospace Industry's Hopes Soaring

Law360, New York (November 8, 2013, 7:58 PM EST) -- The Federal Aviation Administration's new policy roadmap for integrating unmanned aircraft into U.S. airspace has raised the hopes of some in the aerospace industry, marking an important milestone in an often-delayed transition that could bring billions of dollars to the industry.

The FAA expects that as many as 7,500 commercial unmanned aircraft will enter U.S. airspace within the next five years, and safely integrating those aircraft with commercial and passenger planes will be a significant challenge for the federal government, FAA Administrator Michael Huerta said Thursday....
