Starbucks Must Pay Mondelez $2.7B In Bagged Coffee Row

Law360, Los Angeles (November 12, 2013, 8:18 PM EST) -- An arbitrator has ordered Starbucks Corp. to pay more than $2.7 billion to the former Kraft Foods Inc. over its termination of a contract with Kraft for the rights to sell, market and distribute its bagged coffee in grocery stores, the company announced Tuesday.

Starbucks must pay $2.2 billion in damages and $527 million in prejudgment interest to Mondelez International Inc., which comprises the international snacking and food brands of the former Kraft Foods.
