Ex-Fla. Mayor, Lobbyist Plead Guilty To Kickback Scheme

Law360, Miami (November 13, 2013, 5:41 PM EST) -- A former mayor of Sweetwater, Fla., and a Miami-area lobbyist on Wednesday pled guilty to fraud for their roles in a kickback and bribery scheme to obtain and keep thousands of dollars in federal grant money, the U.S. attorney's office said.
