Snyder's-Lance Uses False 'All Natural' Labels, Suit Says

Law360, New York (November 14, 2013, 4:04 PM EST) -- Snyder's-Lance Inc. was hit with a proposed class action Wednesday by consumers claiming it misleadingly labels its pretzel and chip snacks as “all natural” even though they allegedly contain artificial colors and genetically modified ingredients.

In a complaint filed in Florida federal court, residents from Florida, California and New York argued that Snyder’s-Lance prominently marketed several snacks as “all natural” merely to use the label’s cachet among its health- and environmentally conscious consumers and charge a premium price.
