Nikon, Fujifilm Triumph In Data Transmission Patent MDL

Law360, Los Angeles (November 14, 2013, 8:12 PM EST) -- A Washington federal judge on Thursday entered final judgment of noninfringement of all patents in the first wave of lawsuits in multidistrict litigation brought by a German patent-holding company against digital camera makers, including Nikon Corp., and certified the judgment for appeal.

The decision comes after the camera manufacturers scored another win in July, when U.S. District Judge Rosemary Collyer handed summary judgment rulings that effectively cleared all of the accused camera and recording devices from patent infringement claims in the MDL over a communication interface....
