DOE Hands Out $7M For Tribal Clean Energy Projects

Law360, New York (November 15, 2013, 12:24 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Energy will inject $7 million into nine clean energy projects in nine tribal nations across the country, the department said Friday.

The communities, located in New York, Alaska, Arizona and other states, will receive different projects based on their needs. These include solar panels for heating and electricity, more energy-efficient circuitry and equipment, wind turbines and other small-scale upgrades. The Obama administration had told the 2013 Tribal Nations Conference that it wants to help these communities better withstand climate change.
