'Troll' Fighter Newegg Heads To Trial Over TQP Patent

Law360, New York (November 15, 2013, 8:10 PM EST) -- A trial is slated to get underway Monday in a case where online computer retailer Newegg Inc. is accused of infringing Texas-based TQP Development LLC's data encryption patent, in the latest demonstration of Newegg's policy of never settling with companies it calls "patent trolls."

Newegg was one of scores of companies sued in 2011 by nonpracticing entity TQP over the patent in the Eastern District of Texas, but every other defendant has settled or been dismissed, leaving Newegg as the only one to take the case...
