Insurer Says Policy Doesn't Cover Grocery's Data Leak Claim

Law360, New York (November 15, 2013, 6:25 PM EST) -- Beazley Insurance Co. filed a suit in New York federal court Wednesday claiming it is not responsible to pay a claim Schnuck Markets made seeking millions of dollars in response to a cyberattack that compromised the credit and debit card information of about 2.4 million Schnuck customers last year.

According to the complaint, Schnuck submitted a claim to the Connecticut-based insurance company more than 90 days after the security breach in its computer system, seeking millions of dollars in costs.
