Texas Court Keeps Docs Sealed In Defamation Row

Law360, Los Angeles (November 15, 2013, 8:39 PM EST) -- A Texas appeals court on Friday temporarily stayed a lower court's decision not to seal documents in a judge's unsuccessful defamation suit against a Dallas attorney, while the appeals court weighs whether the ruling should be reversed.

An appeals court in Texarkana decided that Judge Richard Davis' order would allow the documents to be released to the public and render moot the appeal by Judge Carlos Cortez, the plaintiff in the defamation suit.
