Trend Micro, Acacia Settle Hyperlink Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (March 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Patent-holding company Acacia Research Corp. has settled a lawsuit filed against Trend Micro Inc. for alleged infringement of intellectual property covering CDs or DVDs that include Internet hyperlinks.

The deal between Acacia unit Disc Link Corp. and Trend Micro, announced on Tuesday, resolves pending litigation between the companies in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Trend Micro would not comment on the deal.
