The trade secrets useful in oil and gas exploration and production (“E&P”) can be very valuable to their owners. Texas courts have dealt with many trade secrets in many industries. Even in the oil patch, trade secrets can include many different things: seismic data, software, down-hole tools, manufacturing processes, hydraulic fracturing ingredients, well logs, customer lists, prospect and bidding information, and so on.
