Prosecutors Can't Stay Civil Suit Against SAC Exec

Law360, Los Angeles (November 15, 2013, 10:02 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Friday rejected the government's request to halt discovery in the civil suit against former SAC Capital Advisors LP manager Mathew Martoma pending the resolution of Martoma's criminal trial, saying prosecutors had failed to show they would suffer prejudice without a stay. 

In a brief order, U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero denied the prosecutors' motion to intervene and stay discovery in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's suit against Martoma.
