2nd Circ. Says It Won't Rehear Argentina's $1B Debt Appeal

Law360, New York (November 18, 2013, 9:30 PM EST) -- The Second Circuit on Monday denied the Republic of Argentina’s petition to reconsider an order directing the country to pay close to $1.4 billion to investment firms that hadn't participated in Argentina’s debt restructurings.

The appeals court said Monday that the active members of the court had chosen to deny Argentina’s petition for rehearing en banc. The decision comes the same month as the appeals court refused to lift a stay on the order while the U.S. Supreme Court considered review of the case.
