Life Settlement Co. Takes Securities Case To Texas Justices

Law360, Houston (November 19, 2013, 3:26 PM EST) -- A life settlement broker asked the Texas Supreme Court on Friday to revive its suit challenging the state's decision to sue a competitor for allegedly selling unregistered securities, saying the case could result in new regulations affecting the entire viatical settlement industry.

Trinity Settlement Services LLC argued in a petition for review that it should be allowed to challenge an enforcement action by the Texas State Securities Board's against Retirement Value LLC because the case is based on a novel interpretation of the Texas Securities Act....
