In Setback For Hynix, Judge Refuses To Toss Rambus Suit

Law360 (January 5, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Dealing a stinging blow to Korea’s Hynix Semiconductor Inc., a California federal judge has rebuffed claims that Rambus Inc. destroyed evidence and allowed the U.S. chip designer’s patent infringement lawsuit to proceed to trial.

The move marks a remarkable change of fortune for Rambus, which was forced to abandon a similar lawsuit in Virginia federal court against German rival Infineon last year amid allegations the company engaged in systematic evidence destruction.
