'Gulfstream Girl' Accused Of Ripping Off Jet Co.'s Trademark

Law360, Los Angeles (November 20, 2013, 7:45 PM EST) -- Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. on Wednesday filed a trademark infringement suit against aviation enthusiast website Aviloop and its founder Nadia Marcinko over their use of the moniker "Gulfstream Girl," claiming Marcinko has illegally profited from the company's trademarks.

Gulfstream alleged Marcinko, a former international fashion model turned commercial pilot and entrepreneur, has unlawfully appropriated its signature mark to promote Aviloop, which offers deals on aviation services and products.

"Defendants target the same customers as Gulfstream namely [and] Gulfstream enthusiasts and aviation enthusiasts generally through the same trade channels including the Internet, air shows and aviation-industry trade...
