Ropes & Gray Wins Jury Verdict Quashing Retaliation Claims

Law360, New York (November 21, 2013, 2:48 PM EST) -- A Boston jury returned a verdict in favor of law firm Ropes & Gray LLP on Thursday in a lawsuit brought by a former associate alleging the firm retaliated against him for filing a racial discrimination complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The firm was cleared in August of discrimination claims by former associate John Ray III, who is black, alleging he was not promoted because of his race, but U.S. District Judge Richard Stearns ruled that a jury would decide the retaliation claims....
