OCI's Planned $1B Texas Methanol Plant To Be Largest In US

Law360, New York (November 21, 2013, 5:43 PM EST) -- Dutch energy company OCI NV said Thursday that it will build the United States' largest methanol plant in Beaumont, Texas, with a reported price tag of more than $1 billion.

The facility will go up by 2016 and produce 1.75 million metric tons of ethanol per year, or 5,000 tons per day, according to the company, which will build the plant through its subsidiary, Natgasoline LLC. OCI couldn't immediately be reached for comment but resource blog FuelFix said the project will cost more than $1 billion....
