Federal Investigators Probe Trader In $141M Loss

Law360, New York (March 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Prosecutors are reportedly investigating a rogue trader whose unauthorized trades of wheat futures led MF Global Ltd. to lose $141.5 million in a single day.

A spokesman with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois would not confirm or deny whether they were investigating trader Evan "Brent" Dooley as the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

MF Global said last week that Dooley, who had been with the firm since 2005, had been fired because of the unauthorized trades.
