Lawmakers Eye Measure To Create Energy Agency

Law360, New York (March 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Members of the U.S. House of Representatives have proposed a new way to deal with climate change through a bill, introduced Tuesday, that would establish an international agency to promote renewable energy across the world.

Bill H.R. 5529, sponsored by Rep. Edward Markey (D-Mass.), would direct the president to immediately establish the International Renewable Energy Agency, which would focus on expanding availability and generating capacity of renewable energy to markets around the world.
