GoldieBlox Calls Off Dogs In Fight To Use Beastie Boys Song

Law360, New York (November 27, 2013, 3:25 PM EST) -- Toy company GoldieBlox Inc. has pulled a parody version of the Beastie Boys song “Girls” from its popular viral promotional video and is willing to drop its suit seeking a judgment that the parody makes fair use of the track, the company revealed Wednesday.

In a personal letter to the band posted on the GoldieBlox website, CEO Debbie Sterling said the company still felt it was within its rights to use the song, but would agree to halt its declaratory judgment suit if the Beastie Boys...
