DOJ Approves Microsoft's $7B Nokia Mobile Buy

Law360, New York (December 2, 2013, 8:04 PM EST) -- Antitrust authorities at the U.S. Department of Justice have cleared the way for Microsoft Corp. to complete its €5.44 billion ($7.3 billion) acquisition of Nokia Corp.'s smartphone operations, Microsoft announced Monday.

A spokesman for Microsoft told Law360 that the DOJ has approved the deal without applying any conditions or requiring any divestitures. The companies have said they hope to close the deal in the first quarter of 2014.
