Philadelphia Launches Property Tax Relief Program

Law360, New York (December 4, 2013, 3:43 PM EST) -- Philadelphia officials on Tuesday launched a new program designed to give long-time homeowners sizable discounts on their property taxes after changes in how the city appraises properties lead to significant increases for some homeowners.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter announced that the city has begun mailing information packets to 80,000 properties that may be eligible for the new program.
