Use Of E-Cigarettes Restricted By Calif. City

Law360, San Diego (December 4, 2013, 6:53 PM EST) -- Richmond, Calif.'s city council voted Tuesday to expand the city’s anti-smoking laws to include electronic cigarettes, saying that allowing people to use the devices in smoke-free locations, including public spaces and workplaces, would undermine compliance with regulations on traditional cigarettes.

The city council passed the ordinance amending Richmond Municipal Code 9.56 to bar the smoking of electronic and battery-operated cigarettes in enclosed public spaces and certain unenclosed places.
