EU Simplifies Merger Rules, Trims Notification Demands

Law360, New York (December 5, 2013, 5:17 PM EST) -- The European Commission updated its merger rules Thursday to make more deals eligible for a simplified review and reduce the amount of information the watchdog requires companies to provide about all mergers.

The European Union antitrust enforcer raised the market concentration thresholds that decide which deals can file shorter notification forms under the simplified procedure.
