Law360 (March 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- While medical device manufacturers face significant backlash if they wait too long to issue a recall, they also run the risk of pulling the trigger too early.

With heightened federal scrutiny and increased media attention to recalls, companies are voluntarily recalling devices more often, even if they have less information on the problem and the risk involved is smaller, according to product liability experts.
