Risk Retention Group Can't Overturn NJ Coverage Decision

Law360, New York (December 6, 2013, 5:20 PM EST) -- A ruling that New Jersey doesn't violate federal law by requiring risk retention groups to provide pedestrian injury coverage as part of its no-fault motor vehicle insurance requirements will stand, with the state Supreme Court refusing Friday to disrupt a lower court's July decision.

The high court denying Ocean Risk Retention Group Inc.'s bid for certification also preserves a finding that the state doesn't discriminate against risk retention groups by barring such organizations, which businesses form to insure themselves, from the New Jersey Property-Liability Insurance Guaranty...
